You're gonna be jealous!

Grinder, taco and vat of white sauce - and it's all mine!

This post really doesn’t even need words; that’s how spectacular the photo is.

I live in Fargo. Red Pepper lives in Grand Forks. You do the math.

And don’t judge me.

With Andy on another business trip (for the last time thankfully), I have no adult supervision to halt my irrational, impulsive, and magically delicious decisions.

When you want the Pepper, you want the Pepper. If you don't know the deliciousness I speak of a) you're not really living and b) we probably shouldn't be friends.

And do I have another grinder and taco waiting in the fridge for round two? Of course I do silly. Driving to Grand Forks for just one meal would be a little foolish, don't you think?!

Isn't that just typical.

Again I didn’t know I needed something until it found me!

What the latest non-necessity to find its way into my life? Just another pair of black open toed shoes to add to the collection. They look like the rest...just a little different...but isn't that the story of all shoes? And because there is absolutely no reason I need to add another pair of black shoes to the wardrobe, I decided to wait for a sale!

So proud of myself I waited and waited…and finally a shoe sale! An extra twenty bucks off must certainly prove these shoes are a necessity.

So I stand, patiently waiting for the shoe girl to get my size…slip those bad boys on…and…they’re like daggers on my feet. I’ve had my fair share of painful shoes, like I’m just going to wear you out and have a handful of cocktails so I don’t feel my feet bleeding, kind of shoes. But these shoes took the cake, sad!

I guess that’s the shoe guy in the sky saying I really didn’t need these shoes after all – or maybe a helpful life lesson to try things on before waiting a month to buy them!

Playin' hooky

I played hooky from work this afternoon and it was AMAZING!

I made the decision over lunch that the remainder of the day stuck in my office was just not going to happen. It was 80 degrees out and sunny with just a little wind. And I was feeling a little Vitamin D deficient.

I headed to Target to buy some new sunscreen. You know how every year you just bust out the same thing of sunscreen you’ve been using for, oh I don’t know, ever…and last year it was a little chunky? Well it was definitely time for new SPF this season. I also bought myself a new sundress only because I didn’t want to stop by home before I went to mom’s to tan (for those of you who don’t know, we live about 2 miles away from mom and pop and yes that’s how efficient lazy I am).

Mom’s house has two great things going for it. A fence to block any wind and no Tucker. Who wants to take an afternoon off to lay out just to have a dog breathing his dog breath all over you? Not this girl. Oh and third bonus, mom’s house has treats.

So after two hours in the sun, an apple and this delicious strawberry frozen thing, it was time to head home. Oh if every afternoon could be this wonderful!

The grass isn't greener...

I don’t think anyone ever loves their neighbors…but you miss the ones you had when worse ones move in next door.

The couple that moved out had a really annoying little dog that barked whenever Tucker was outside, but he was adorable. They didn’t know how to take care of their lawn, but they were quiet…and they recently sold their house.

The new neighbors are here…in full force. It’s a family...with 4-6 children…I can’t quite tell how many yet. And not toddlers, we've got rambunctious kids that run around yelling all the time. Oh and great, they’re the backyard fire pit kind of family, who like hang out all night, right near our bedroom window. I get it, it’s finally nice outside…but when I smell burning wood and s’mores at 2pm on Sunday afternoon and it’s like 75 and muggy out, that’s where I draw the line.

Oh and new neighbors, they have an even more annoying little dog that barks whenever ANYONE walks by…and he’s not even cute.

So, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side – and when mowed by what looked like a 10 year old - the grass doesn’t look good either.

I survived!

Andy is home from another work trip and I survived with flying colors! 4 days away is much easier than 7!

I brought Andy to the airport at 6am on Sunday morning to catch his flight to Tampa FL – where the weather was a steamy 90 degrees. I couldn’t have been more jealous, if I were more awake that is. I went home and slept for a few more hours and then met the fam out for Mother’s Day Brunch. Yum. I came home and Tucker gave me the best Mother’s Day present – silence during a 2 hour calorie induced coma-nap. It was amazing.

And the rest of the week went off without a hitch – or posting of how naughty Tucker was. How did that happen you might ask…his ass was at Rovers for two solid days. Even a sleep over. I have been so busy with work that I wasn’t even able to pick my kid up from daycare and he had to spend the night…whoopsiedaisies.

I picked up my boys last night and they were both very tired and happy to be home.

I've got a case of the Monday-Wednesdays

Life has been a little dull around the Fellows’ these days. Weather is crappy and work is busy so I end up home from work on the couch, relaxing my evenings away. And it’s a good thing, because there is some seriously good tv on lately.

Housewives of Anywhere. I really like this show…and I’ll throw Andy under the bus in a minute to inform everyone that he does too. NYC – catty bitches. I’m team Bethany and I think Jill used to be great, but now she’s just a mean girl. And crazy eyes, are you serious with that face? NJ – Oh I’m so glad you’re back. I’m pretty sure you’re all tied to the mafia and coming from Fargo without a clue, I like it!

Idol. I’m into Idol and again, so is Andy. I was thrilled to see Siobhan’s ass leave last week and I’m ready for the little kid to go too. Of course I like Crystal, but I’m totally impressed with Lee’s progression through the weeks. What I’m not impressed with – their totally cheesy and terribly lip synched group song each week, please spare us this agony!

And while I was busy watching Idol and DWTS last night I completely missed the make-over episode of Biggest Loser. Damnit! That’s the best episode ever. Did I spare myself the tear stained cheeks from every family meeting, yes…but this girl ain’t afraid to cry!

I know, it’s totally lame I watch so much tv, but what else is there to do on a rainy, cold evening in Fargo? Read up on world events? Clean my house? Laundry? I don’t think so.

Sorry about the rain.

It is a rainy Sunday and I apologize for that because it’s probably the Fellows’ fault. Did I get my car washed? No. Andy bought a new bike.

We thought a bike would be a great exercise outlet for the dog. Yes, we already bought a treadmill for him, so now it’s time for a bike.  And since Andy still needed to spend some of his Microsoft “fitness” money, who wouldn’t want a free bike?

So, we headed off to Scheels on Saturday and that was mistake number one. It’s like a tourist attraction for small towners. It’s ridiculous…but I did get a hotdog and strawberry Italian soda, so I fit right in.

We made our way to the bike section and then realized just how long it has been since we had a) rode a bike or b) bought a bike. We saw Treks and Gary Fishers. Those were cool back in the day…at least 15 years ago (Oh my God, we're old.)...but what about now?   And the mountain bikes we were so used to…have now been replaced by sleeker tires for “city riding.” As much as we hated it, we had to flag down a salesperson to help.

Andy picked out a new grey Trek and we headed out - we skipped the ferris wheel and $80 Twins sweatshirt that was so adorable.

Oh and another thing, this bike came with a bell but no kickstand. A bell, but no kickstand. Is that weird or is it just me?

Man, times have changed.
