It's New Years Eve huh?

Well, aren't you all ambitious.

I checked my fave blogs this morning and there were no new posts...and I thought, I'm in the clear...I don't need to keep up with no Kardashians today. And then *wham* after dinner there were a zillion new posts.  Damnit.

So here I go. Pardon the randomness.

I'm not interested in being productive today, okay I'm interested in it, it's just not happening for me.  I did shower however, so that was pretty productive on my new scale of productivity.  I'd blame parenthood for my lack of motivation, but when your kid takes a five hour day nap you can't blame her for much.

I'm in the middle of turning my other blog into a book and it's basically all consuming.  I thought I'd be able to push a button and instantly order up my blog in a kickass hard cover version, but it's taking a lot more than that unfortunately.  So, if I'm not napping or nursing or not cleaning, I'm editing my bookblog.

But anyways...I think we all know that 2010 kicked some serious ass!  I believe I did other things than produce a child, but I have no idea what those things are right now. (Thankfully I have a blog to remind me, huh?!)

So I was also going to modify my blog, put up a new list of resolutions, add some photos...but Emmie and I took a nap on the couch instead...time well spent in my eyes.

And my New Year's Eve: I'm watching Chelsea Lately and waiting for the babe to wake. There's a blizzard outside and though I had no plans of leaving the house, now I have an excuse. (I am a little pissed that our 2nd annual day of slum-bar Bingo is going to be cancelled though...that's the classiest way to ring in the New Year!)

Happy New Year all you ambitious souls...

Look what I made in 2010!

12.29.2010

And then there was one

I'm back to one blog people. So remember that post that went something like... this isn't going to be a baby blog...well it's about to get all sorts of baby up in here.  Let's be honest, with maternity leave until March it's not like I'll  have anything else to report.

So hopefully there will be some entertaining Emmie Ann stories and I'm sure there will be a few good Tucker tales as well.

I will say that maternity leave is rocking my socks off so far.  I've got a happy sleeper for a baby (knock on wood) so I'm able to get some things accomplished throughout the day.  We take lots of naps and watch the freezing cold world outside...happy to be cuddled on the couch!

12.23.2010

sunkist in hand & uggs on feet

I made my first outing today...ALONE.  No hubby and no baby.  With the c-section delivery I am not supposed to drive for 2 weeks (or 6, I can't remember...oops).  The last time I was in the driver's seat my belly was touching the steering wheel and my maternity pants were cutting off circulation.

I thought I was going to the mall but changed my mind when I saw the sea of cars, people and chaos.  So I hit up trusty Old Navy instead. It was great to get out and just wander around. When I shop with Andy there is no wandering allowed, we get in and get out. No fun!

So I bought some random stuff and made my way home...it's pretty great to open the door to a home as warm as an oven with hubby rocking baby girl.

Shopping is good, but home is great!

12.11.2010

It's tough...

To blog one handed....but I just can't seem to let this one go!

11.28.2010

4...count 'em FOUR!

Oh how long I've waited for this Christmas!

For this Christmas, I finally get to hang that FOURTH stocking. That 4th little stocking that has been waiting so patiently to join the rest of its stocking family.

So happy to hang you little 4th stocking, you have no idea. And so happy to be so close to meeting your little owner.

Andy, Kelsey, Tucker and Emmie!

11.21.2010

Oh no they di'n't.

You know the mall kiosks that are full of semi random stuff? I can understand...maybe they don't need a whole store devoted to little glass figurines or super cheap you're not even trying bag knockoffs.  But this...this has gone too far!

If you can't tell from my piss poor cell phone photo - that is a ZUBAZ kiosk.  Not funny, nor cool.  And the kicker, they're $30.  Thirty dollars for Zubaz? You've got to be kidding me!  I thought the dude walking around in his Vikings Zubaz was, well, just another Fargoan stuck in another era...but then I realized he was also trying to sell them.

I'm all for vintage, but this is ridic!

11.17.2010

someone else's blog and baby

Check out the Rialee website under the blogs I follow - that 'baby girl' is my niece Olivia!

Suck it Gap! Part II

And this is why you never pay full price at the Gap or Gap Kids.

Price last week: $34.50
Price when I stole it from Gap Kids today: $7.99

Oh hell to the yeah.

It really doesn't matter your age, every girl needs a little black dress!

11.07.2010

not much to say....

So, I decided this blog wouldn't be about baby until it had to be...you know, when I had absolutely nothing else to say. Well let's just say that it's happening. You know when the thing that is getting so big in your life...aka...my belly, kinda starts taking over everything thought (and every square inch of your house) and you really have nothing else to discuss? Yep. That's it.

Anyways, I'm having a baby and hopefully that baby will arrive in a nice month or so.  I can handle being over due, but I'm not all that interested in it to be quite honest. The showers have been had, the room is done and now we're just waiting while she cooks a little longer.

Andy recently bought himself a new Xbox and Kinect to pass the time.  FYI on the Kinect...once you're done playing a game it will replay a little video of you actually playing the game. I was unaware and the little video that popped up of me bowling in sweatpants and ponytail and glasses and HUGE...well, not real impressed and now I'm done with the Kinect.

10.30.2010

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone! BEE safe!

Yeah, we all know I'm THAT person that dresses up their dog. And I still love it, every time.  There's nothing funnier that a dog in costume, and when it's Tucker it's just funnier for some reason.

And now the costume comes off and we sit in the basement in the dark hiding from trick-or-treaters.  Yep, I'm THAT person too.  I'm assuming next year will be different when I have a little human to dress up, but for now I'll ignore the holiday.

10.19.2010

Am I getting old or what?

That was a rhetorical question jerk, you didn't have to answer yes so quickly AND laugh.

So I'm wondering when that "momness" is going to set in. You know, the voice that tells you to shop at age appropriate stores and to listen to age appropriate music.

I recently downloaded some new tunes and burned myself a little ass shakin' CD for the car (see I'm old, I burned a CD because I can't even find my ipod right now and of course it wouldn't be charged if I did locate it). Now I realize that while my ass is shaking, so is this baby's.  And I hope she's just moving around and she's not fist pumping in utero.  Right behind the new Enrique Iglesias song is a little tune I can't help but rock out to: Sexy Bitch by David Guetta and Akon.

She's nothing like a girl you've ever seen before
Nothing you can compare to your neighborhood hoe
I'm trying to find the words to describe this girl
Without being disrespectful
Damn Girl You's a Sexy Bitch, a sexy bitch, a sexy bitch

What? Those lyrics aren't appropriate for a pregnant lady to be listening to, but I can't help myself. I mean, shouldn't there be some little voice in my head saying "that sexy bitch is someone's daughter, turn that crap off!" But no, I just hit repeat.

And then, the shopping at appropriate stores part. It's a little hard to ignore the huge bright shiny sparkly wonderland that is a brand new Forever 21 store in our mall. I get it, I haven't been 21 in, well Forever. But the store is just too enticing with its totally cheap duds and accessories as far as the eye can see.

I will say that the only thing worse than shopping at Forever 21 at age 29 is being the latter plus pregnant. But, I figure accessories and cardigans always fit - but oh what did my little eyes spy - only about a dozen tops that will be mine once I'm back to my fighting weight.

So while my shame almost stopped me from entering, my desire to be hip pushed me right through those doors. And there's nothing more hip than using the word hip.

Maybe that momness IS starting to set in.

10.15.2010

Change.

I adapt well, but I don't have to like it.

Case in point this week.  I've been in meetings all week. You know when you get your first big girl job in the real world and it's so cool to add a meeting to your calendar and then six years later the meetings generally lose their sparkly excitement? That's where I'm at right now. Meetings aren't cool. They're a pain in my ass. And totally mess up my routine.

These meetings aren't even held at my office, I spend the day (starting at 7am btw...umm...it's still nighttime, why am I driving to work?) at the Hilton with absolutely no routine I'm used to - aka get to work, check my email, check my favorite blogs, have a bagel, you know...really ease into my day.

I feel so out of sorts.

Thank god I took Friday and Monday off huh?

I made banana bread...

And it's irresistible.
To everyone.

Addicted.

My name is Kelsey and I have a serious problem.

I am absolutely addicted to online shopping.

It's the thrill of regular shopping - the high of finding something amazing and swiping the old credit card - PLUS the excitement of the package arriving!  And I have everything shipped to work which is a double bonus, because not only do I get something fun delivered to work, I have numerous people to show my new fun things to.

I don't even know when it started exactly and I think that's a bad sign.  It was something for the baby I'm sure. But it's been a slippery slope since then.

And I'm a sucker for free shipping which is fine if it's a great website that always offers free shipping (shout out to Zappos, Piperlime and Kate Spade)...but I fall for the spend $50 get free shipping "deal" well, every time.

I've recently brought my online shopping international with a fun new website http://www.asos.com/.  My new dress arrived (because of the free shipping to the US) and I love it.

So obviously the online shopping addiction isn't a bad thing for me...just maybe for my marriage.

**Love you dear. We NEED all of these things I'm purchasing and I'm getting REALLY good deals on it all!

Happy Birthday Kristi!

Another 30th birthday on the books.  We celebrated Kristi's birthday this weekend with a party in her newly renovated house.  Joe and Kristi remodeled their kitchen, bathroom, redid flooring and all that jazz. It looks amazing! I can't believe how handy our friends are!

We had great food - there were yard games and the college classic, flippy cup.  I opted to devour food, not move from the couch and skip the flip.

Private Practice

If you didn't watch the new Private Practice, I'm about to spoil it for you.

The whole show leads us to believe that Addison and Sam are not together, until the final scene where it shows them in the bathtub together. Now, I'm super excited AddiSam made it through the fake summer, but honestly...how many of you out there take baths with your hubby or boyfriend?

I recall taking a bath with Andy once. It was in an over sized hot tub and this was also in the era of us sharing a twin bed. We're small people, so I just don't know how it works for full size adults to squeeze into a bathtub together.

And more so, when I'm taking a bath that's Kelsey time. I think I would fall over dead if Andy ever hopped in the tub with me.

Perhaps my attitude would be different if it was Taye Diggs?

9.17.2010

friday fun

Do you ever have those moments in the car that you wish you were the only person on the road…because all you want to do is belt out the chorus line of the song you’re listening to? I sure do - like on the way to work this morning. I’ll let you in a little secret, I really like Adam Lambert. I know, totally embarrassing right?! But seriously, I pretty much love all of his songs. And this morning, What Do You Want From Me? was my song of choice.

Then it happened again, while I was on lunch…waiting in line at Taco Bell. Don’t judge me. The baby wanted a cheesy gordita crunch and that’s enough reason for me to consume the yummy fat and calories. Whitesnake – Here I Go Again. Now I’m not at all a hair band groupie. In fact, the only reason I even know who Bret Michaels is, is thanks to VH1 and his bus’o’sluts. Anyways…this song…I like to rock out to. Why? I have no idea…but every time I hear it I’m thisclose to whipping out some air drums.

So these are my two random songs of the day. Thank you xm radio for expanding my horizons. We all know that Andy fears this baby is coming out rapping and throwing the F bomb around like it ain’t no thang. I disagree a bit, I’m more of a hip hop, R&B kind of girl…not straight up rap (and I would never let my baby swear like me a sailor). Though I’ve recently found myself loving music with a latin beat too. I blame the sombrero wearing, cheesy gordita crunch eating kid inside.

9.13.2010

What does your shadow look like?

Mine weighs 88 pounds, has four legs and will not leave me the eff alone. I assume he knows some serious changes are going to take place in a few months and he’s trying to get in some mom time while he can. But honestly, it’s the most annoying thing EVER. When I wake up, he’s waiting outside the bedroom door. I make a move, he’s on my heels. I’m on the couch, he’s panting right below me. I go to the bathroom, he’s a creepy onlooker. I take a bath, he’s a super creepy onlooker that also wants to sample the bath water.

So I was going to post some photos of my shadow. And this is what I have to show for it. A dog that can’t keep his eyes open for the flash. NOT ONE with his eyes open. Seriously? Note to self, Tuck can only be photographed in daylight.

9.05.2010

our nex camera

What a great weekend! Anything better than a 4 day weekend? Only the 4 day work week leading up to it and following it.  Andy and I had Friday off and were super productive.  One of the things on our list we've been meaning to accomplish is a new camera purchase.  Done and done.

I walked into Best Buy and after much thought and research, I knew I wanted the Nikon D5000. And we walked out 20 minutes later with the Sony NEX.  I was hook, line and sinker on what the sales lady had to say. We then headed to Ritz just to double check and the salesguy confirmed our decision.

Now we've just been trying to learn how to use this new camera all weekend.  Sorry for all the photos of Tucker you'll be seeing in the weeks to come, he's a much more cooperative model than Andy.

My handsome men.

8.31.2010

gettin crafty with it

It was my sister-in-law's baby shower this weekend and I was in charge of cupcakes. Now I said I got crafty with it, I didn't get all Betty Crocker on it. One of my employees makes awesome cupcakes, so I paid her off to take care of the actual cupcake part.  I did however make the presentation pretty dang cute if I do say so myself.

I present to you, flower pot'o'cupcakes!

Obviously I didn't invent this, but I think I copied it pretty well.

Terra cotta pot, styrofoam, brown playdough to cover the styrofoam and wooden dowels to hold the cupcakes!

Yum-O!

8.29.2010

Happy Birthday Laur!

I attended another 30th birthday party this weekend...I'm still getting old! This one was for my pal Laura and it was a suprise party threw by her hubby - great work Tim. Good times with friends, awesome Indian food catered in and delicious carrot cake from Nichole's. YUM!

8.27.2010

It's the little things in life that can be the best, am I right?

Like Tuesday when I flew through Starbucks with the greatest of ease...not a single person in line. The chick didn't even have time to make stupid small talk. (Does anyone else get really annoyed at the new customer service tactic at the 'Bucks? I mean honestly, you don't care about my day, hell my day hasn't even started yet - so lay off the caffeine, get me my coffee and let's move on). She ran my card, handed me my coffee and I was out. I was even on time to work, which pretty much never happens so it was a good day. With my tall decaf white chocolate mocha in hand I proceeded to conquer the day.

And today, the day of all days at the bank. Well it's a Friday, so that's excellent to begin with. And it's potluck day. Ah, whoever created potlucks is a genius. I wasn't feeling all Betty Crocker this week so spinach dip from Green Mill is what I provided - I think that's a win-win for everyone. And then, the icing on the cake, it's jeans day. We never get to wear jeans at work, gawd we finally were able to stop wearing nylons last summer so why does it surprise me. But everyone is in such a good mood, the outfits are cute as can be and the elastic at the top of my maternity jeans was just made for potluck Friday.

8.17.2010

A Wicked good time

In addition to my shopping adventure ths weekend, we went to the play Wicked. I’m not a huge theatre buff (that’s Alicia’s department) and I was really just attending because otherwise I’d be sitting in the hotel room. Much to my surprise the play was great! The actors were really good, the singing was great and I even like the story line!

All my aunts, cousins, ma and grammy before the play:

The fam at the play:  Notice anyone missing? Oh yeah...that's ME. Because I was a late comer to the shopping trip and play...I had to sit by myself...way in the back...in the balcony.  Thankfully for everyone in my row I was located on the aisle, but even the ticket guy laughed when I said I was by myself.

8.16.2010

Suck it Gap!

This weekend was spent shopping my heart out in the cities with ma, my aunts, cousins and grammy. I didn’t have much success at the Albertville Outlet Mall on day one, but day two…I made Gap Maternity my bitch…once I finally found the damn store.

The only Gap in the area with a maternity section is in the Mall of America. Apparently I don’t frequent the Mall that is Mega often enough, because the Gap was hiding like a fat camper on weigh in day. We finally located the Gap and I triumphantly headed in, hopes high.

Two minutes later I returned dejected.

I replayed my conversation with GapTwitEmployee to mom:

Me: Um, where is the maternity section (imagine out of breath, and a little hostile holding back tears.)
GTE: Oh due to construction the maternity section is now in Bloomingdales.
Me: It’s in Bloomingdales? (huge emphasis on IN BLOOMINGDALES? with a very confused look on my face.)
GTE: Yep, right next to their baby section.
Me: Okaaaaay. Now I have this 40% off coupon that I can only use at the Gap, can I use it there?
GTE: Yes, absolutely.

So mom and I headed off to Bloomingdales, confused as ever and stopped the first employee we saw. And the Bloomies employee with a super nice and friendly snotty and bitchy face asked “why would the Gap be in Bloomingdales? We would not have Gap clothes in our store.” Yes, I realize that completely, however the employee at Gap said it was here. Finally the Bloomindales employee pointed us towards the nearby Gap Kids that, hallefrigginlujah had a maternity section in the back.

Unfortunately, it was a super small selection and only ONE dressing room. However I found a pair of jeans and two tops. We got to the check out and I asked if I could really use the 40% off coupon like the GTE had promised…and…of course not. The sales girl said it was completely up to the computer and turned around the screen to prove to me the coupon would not work. She scanned the coupon and *plink*plink*plink all items were immediately 40% off. Yes! And then she mentioned jeans were buy one get another pair for $20…okay, I’m in. And then I had a $40 rewards coupon to use…so my total purchase was $50.

Oh hell to the yeah.

Naturally I then spent the savings on a new purse. Suck it Gap!

Summer Fun!

Another fun filled weekend!

I’m just so appreciative of good weather and friends with lake cabins that invite us out to play! Andy and I ditched Tucker for the weekend again and headed to Lake Sallie with Alicia. We started with a booze cruise around the lake Friday night followed by a pizza and nacho filled evening at Zorbaz.

Saturday didn’t start off so amazing weather-wise but we watched Valentine’s Day. (Andy’s new least favorite movie ever.) We hit up the lake once the sun started shining and drove past the We Fest camp ground. Oh my. You know you’re getting old when just the sight of a campground filled with tents and booze makes you sleepy.

Then we headed over to Pelican Lake to have some boating fun with Uncle Larson. We stayed on the water until about 8pm…way past this girl’s dinner time. It was a beautiful day and the company was more than entertaining, even to this sober gal.

Home we went, showered and back to Zorbaz for another round…having a sober driver lends itself well to getting around lake country.

Entertaining phrases from the weekend:

I don't mean to sound mean, but are you pregnant? (From mullet headed drunk dude at Zorbaz.)

Pour some vodka on it. (From Piper soon-to-be-nurse to Baxter regarding the cut he mysteriously got on his upper leg.)

Kelsey, you're drinking for two now. (From Baxter regarding the bottle of vodka being passed around the boat.)

Yes, that just happened. (From Matt regarding everything he'd just said or done.)

Show us your t*ts. (From WOMAN on double decker boat near We Fest camp ground.)

Show us yours first. (From us, to the woman on the double decker boat.)

Baby Brain or just Bachelorette Brain?

The Bachelorette finale has drained my will to live and blog. Here are some photos:

Friday night at Kim's 30th birthday party.

Saturday was spent in Hawley with the fam, quote of the weekend from little cousin Alex while swimming in the pool: "Kelsey, you look very light colored."  Ah, sad face. And how sad is that I got totally defensive to the comment, at six he didn't really care that I work 40 hours a week...and I can't go to a tanning bed, and really how healthy are those self tanners, and how am I supposed to get a tan just on the weekend when I'm dying of heat stroke and humidity, Alex?!

And Sunday was Phase 2 of project baby room. Closet upgrade! (I wonder how many phases there are going to be!)

The only things cuter than baby girl clothes are little baby hangers!

Rain and rainbows

The clouds finally parted and out came the sun along with a double rainbow. Andy did a mini-geek out and I just rolled my eyes.

Apparently I'm not one of the 7 million people that have seen the "double rainbow guy" on YouTube.

Here you go if you haven't:

Double Rainbow Guy

I obviously was not as high as this guy when I saw the rainbow.

On Call

Andy has been on call the past two weekends, once because it’s was his turn and the other because a co-worker did not want to be on call so badly, that he paid Andy $150 to carry the on-call phone.

Let me explain the on-call bit for a non-doctor. The “super duper important” customers that Andy helps sometimes need assistance on the weekend and in the two years Andy has worked at Microsoft, I think he’s actually helped someone twice on the weekend. So basically, he just hangs out with an extra cell phone in his pocket all weekend.

Now, let me say that Andy being on call is a huge WIN WIN for me! I know, it sucks maybe having to work on the weekend, but Andy can’t even commit to a round of golf when he’s on call. I’m totally selfish, I know, but having him stuck at home for the weekend isn’t so bad in my eyes!

The past two weekends of being on-call have proved successful for Project Nursery. Andy primed and put up the wainscoting in the baby’s room. And today we finished it up with nice coat of gleaming white paint.

It looks a little silly now without the chair rail, but that will be installed after we paint the rest of the room. And that will be done when we decide on a paint color. And that will be done once we find bedding. And that will be done once we figure out what we’re having!

So until then, 90% complete will do!

*I know, close ups will be so much cooler once I get a new camera!

7.22.2010

I want to be a billionaire so effing bad

I don’t really…but that song has been stuck in my head all week. Well the first part is a lie, I think we’d all want to be billionaires if we had the option. Note to self: work on becoming a billionaire.

 Travie McCoy - Billionaire

I’ve been on a bit of a blogging hiatus this week…and let me tell you, it feels amazing. Not having to think of a quipy one liner, not whipping out the camera to take a photo of everything or anything that might prove funny at some point, and of course this also means Tucker hasn’t been acting up which is always great.

But now, the guilt is setting in. Not that I’m leaving a massive amount of people lying in wait for my next post…but hopefully there are a handful of you I can entertain and I made a commitment to blogging so damnit, I’m going to blog…whether or not there’s a story to tell.

And sadly, I have no story to tell. It’s been project central at the Fellows’ – I’ll post some pics once they’re completed. Andy’s working super hard in the garage and I’m diligently surfing the internet. Do you know how much baby stuff is out there? Good lord it’s insane. So obviously, I’ve got my own work to do. And my Gap card is offering triple points right now…so I have to maximize that, right?!

7.12.2010

long weekend!

I haven't been at work since Wednesday afternoon and it feels amazing! It was a fun filled weekend with too many stories to blog about - so some photos will have to do. We hit up an engagement party, Alicia's cabin on lake Sallie, Laura's cabin on lake Isabelle and followed it up with a little adventure to the Biz.

Me, Kris, Trisha and the bride-to-be Ang

Swerving Gerving messing with Andy

Yes, that's me in the water...don't worry, I didn't get wet getting on the floaty.

One last photo with my Phase 3 friend.

the 4th

It was a fun filled 4th of July weekend for the Fellows – and by weekend I mean just that – Andy and I both had to work Monday. I mean honestly, who has to work the day after the 4th of July? So sad.

Saturday morning we packed up and headed to the Deere’s cabin on Cass Lake. The Natwicks were already there to get the party started. It was a beautiful day on the lake so we took out the pontoon and soaked in the sun. Well, that’s a lie. I’m a really big talker when it comes to the sun…I got too hot within a couple of hours and sat in the shade the rest of day. I’m nervous about burning this bun in the oven!

Tucker got to spend the weekend at the lake too – he made a new buddy, Boone. They fetched the ball a hundred times, or however long the biggest sucker would stand there and throw it.

We had an awesome fish fry and then Josh tried for hours, literally, to get the UFC fight. It’s a you had to be there kind of story, but trust me when I say he kept us fully entertained while on the phone with customer service (yes there were a few cocktails involved).

And of course there was Olivia to amuse us for hours. She hammed it up for the camera and hung out with the big kids all weekend. She was also very concerned with Tucker’s whereabouts throughout the weekend …because he was usually in a time out.

6.29.2010

a perfect day

It’s a beautiful day in Fargo today! The sun is shining, there is no wind and it’s the perfect temp. What more could you ask for?

Oh and did I mention RED PEPPER is in town too?!

Every year there is this police department festival of sorts at Island Park…and the Red Pepper mobile comes to town! I only know this because I’m a fan on Facebook – don’t judge me people.

(Alicia thanks for joining me and making me not look so pedophile-like at this obviously kid oriented family fest.)

In addition to the Pep, there was cotton candy. MY GOD. Could this day be any more perfect? Probably my two favorite (edible) things rolled into one glorious afternoon. Oh the delight!

(Grinder to go because I already inhaled my beef tostada.)

6.27.2010

Bold and Boring

It was a low key, boring in a good way weekend at the Fellows’. I don’t know how people can be go go go every weekend. I love to have some time to relax, get the house together and nap of course.

It was a super rainy Saturday, excellent for catching up on some DVRed shows and watching my new boyfriend, Landon play some World Cup Soccer. Sunday was windy of course, but with the sun shining, I won’t complain. Andy busied himself with yard work while Tucker and I set up shop on the deck. One of my favorite things to do is to fill up his little pool and watch his dumb ass splash around in circles - all the while singing Tommy Boy’s “Fat Guy in a Little Coat.”

Then Andy was off for an afternoon of golf while Tuck and I did what we do best: nap. I curled up in bed and Tucker curled up on my stacks of folded laundry. It was a bold move, but the stealth like jump to the bed made right as I was falling asleep paid off because I was just too sleepy to do anything about it.

And then I woke from my slumber to find Tucker’s face an inch from mine with his head on my pillow and I clearly knew it was time to get up!

UPS and down

It was our anniversary on Friday, as my blog readers know by the previous post. Andy and I aren’t really gift givers for these occasions, because well we just buy what we want throughout the year. But 5 years seems like a gift worthy, big deal occasion right?

A few weeks ago, I remembered that I fell in love with a necklace my friend Liz had on the last time I saw her. Just a simple lower case cursive “d” that took me forever to figure out stood for her last name…I of course wanted the “f”. So I emailed the hubby a photo of said necklace just in case he wanted to buy me a little something. Yeah, I’m a copy cat and I’ll admit it.

Days went by and no jewelry store description on either credit card. Shoot, my subtle email wasn’t obvious enough! Oh well.

The night before our anniversary Andy says to me something like, I bought you the necklace, but it won’t be here until tomorrow, though they promised it would be here today. Well, a) thanks sneaky hubby for using a secret credit card to buy my goods! and b) I really hoped it arrived before we left town!

Friday morning I was like a kid at Christmas waiting for the UPS man to arrive. The tracking email said he’d left at 6am…but the necklace, nowhere to be found.

We’d waited around as long as we could and finally we needed to leave. Andy mentioned that he saw a UPS truck near our neighborhood as he was coming home. Hmm…well…maybe if the UPS truck won’t come to us, we can go to him?

I’ve realized this pregnancy card is a pretty amazing thing for such scenarios. I mean, can you really turn me down?

So we headed out of town and I prayed to God we saw the UPS truck on the way out.

…and like a mirage down one of the streets in our neighborhood, I saw the brown and gold! Andy hopped out of the car with a smile on his face walked to the UPS truck shaking his head and got the package! What a husband!

5 years

Happy Anniversary to my favorite person in the world! Love you today.

And who are the little kiddos in these photos?

All smiles after the ceremony is a good thing right?!

Big shocker, a windy day in Fargo.

And that's a flooded river behind us, not a lake!
