Naxix!
It was gymnastics weekend and oh what fun we had. Emmie was a little confused and shy at first, but warmed up once she realized she had free reign to run around and be crazy. I told Em she had to listen and do everything the teacher said. The teachers played a warm up song and watching her listen so intently, not quite getting the moves right away was the sweetest thing ever. I won't lie, I did tear up a little bit.
She ran and bounced and swung from the bars, but would not go near the teachers working with all the kids. She pretty much just wanted to do her own thing no matter how many times we tried to lure her to a learning station. Maybe next time?
Anything cuter than diaper and baby tush hanging out the bottom of a leotard?
She loved the long running trampoline, as did most of the kiddos, causing some collisions. Emmie didn't understand why the kids didn't move even though she was screaming "essssscuuuuse meeeee" at the top of her lungs.

Do you ever have a weekend that is just full of perfection?
The kids go to bed on time, sleep through the night, wake to their clocks flashing the green it's okay to wake color...then the day is filled with quiet playing, naps that last forever and the night is topped off with an I love you before an early bedtime...
It was so NOT that kind of weekend.
And to make the fun last longer...daycare was closed on Monday, so the weekend continued.
This weekend, it was tough. The Mister is not sleeping well...again. And then a little someone else decided 5:30am was an awesome time to get up for the day. So full of energy, so early. We were eating waffles and playing doctor by 6am. To say the wait for the mall to open at 10am was painful is an understatement.
We went to the mall, we went to Costco, we went to Nana and Papa's, we played, we read, we colored again and again. And by Sunday, we had nothing else to do. For reals, this winter has overstayed its welcome. Oh and then, Emmie decided she did not want a nap on Sunday. Par for the course. So when Alicia needed to borrow something Sunday afternoon, the whole car was loaded up to hand deliver it to her door within 15 minutes of the request. (And of course Emmie fell asleep two minutes into the car ride, why wouldn't she?!)

She's In!!
To the coveted Saturday morning parent-tot gymnastics session at American Gold.
Let's rewind.
Weeks ago, we went and watched EmaRae at a gymnastics competition. Ever since then, Emmie has not stop talking about "EmaRaya" and her "gymnaxix". Everyday when we get home from school, she strips off her pants, says she's EmaRaya and does somersaults in the living room. Yes, she thinks that to do gymnastics, you have to take your pants off. I mean, I get her logic, those leotards were adorable. So, sorry Stac that any time someone is not wearing an article of clothing in our house, they are referred to as your daughter.
Anyways, I knew I had to get Emmie into a gymnastics class and because they only offer one class on Saturday mornings, I had to haul it to register in person and pray that she would get in. Because, you know, the whole 10am on a Tuesday thing doesn't quite work for us. And of course they give priority to current students and I was wondering who I would have to sleep with to get her in the class...it got a little awkward when the staff was all women.
And then the hunting for a leotard for my little mini followed. She's a petite thing, so I took to Amazon and ordered a couple different sizes. In my quest to find a leotard, I came across my new favorite word in the English language. Biketard. Seriously, biketard. It's a leotard slash biker short combination and I try to use it in a sentence everyday.
Our first class is next week and I'm sure there will be hundred pics to follow.
Oh, but don't tell Emmie she's going to gymnastics. She pretty much has to be kept in the dark about anything fun that is happening in the near future or she wakes up at 4am waiting for said fun thing. Birthday party day, awake at 4am. Going to nana's, awake at 4am. So if you see her, keep it on the down low.

weekend pics
It was one of those blink and you'll miss it kind of weekends. Filled with friends and family and fun. Oh I guess we did lose an hour, so technically it was a short weekend.
Saturday we (Emmie and I) had friends over. Friends and babies. Emmie, Claire, James, Molly and Ethan. Emmie being the oldest and bossiest. I was a bit nervous when Emmie took James' maraca, obviously not concerned enough to actually put down the camera though. And these are the only photos I have because I can't even get Emmie to look at a camera, let alone four one and unders.
Sunday, Emmie met Liv at Nana's for a little morning play date. Lined up with the teddies and babies reading books, what else?

Master bath redo.
From day one, I didn't love the color of our master bath. I had thought I would love yellow, but it just wasn't right. I don't know if it wasn't quite the right shade or cool versus warm undertones or what...but if you know me...you know that every time I stepped foot in that bathroom, that's all that I thought about.
So finally, it had to go. I edged one afternoon during naps and Andy painted the rest on his day off. Amazing what you can get done when kids are at daycare!
I love white trim plus colored walls plus white accents. As much as I'm trying to add color into my life, white stills owns a big piece of my decorating heart.
