Do you ever think something and you immediately wish you could jump through time and erase the thought from ever popping in your head? That was me, about three weeks ago. I foolishly let the thought creep in my mind that jeez, Emmie hasn't been sick in so long. And seriously, for a solid three weeks since, she has been sick. Thanks Universe.
She was sent home from daycare and the evening was normal...until about 9pm when she started barking like a seal. I knew the night was not going to go well. She was up every hour and after rocking and tylenoling again at 3am, Andy said maybe we should just bring her to bed with us. Against my better judgment, I did.
What is it about kids and bed that makes you a magnet? Andy....he had about 90% of the bed and I was left with an edge and an Emmie literally laying on my face. Her hot little body needed to be touching mine and it was like she was trying to get back to where she came from through my skin. She started with her cheek on my cheek and then she slowly crept up and laid with her head on one side of mine, her stomach on my face, and her knees at my ear. It was super awesome.
Andy finally took her back to her room and slept on the ol' recliner with her. Then it was my turn at 5am. And then she was up for the day at 6:30. And then we wondered....what are we going to do with TWO?!
